Are you wondering why the giraffe is our spirit animal and what the animal has to do with our DNA?
Competition on the market can sometimes be as tough as life on the savannah.
Let’s take a look at the inhabitants of the savannah to understand this comparison a little better.
When ostriches encounter other animals, for example, they tend to simply lie down on the ground and wait.
Vultures watch the action from a distance and rely on leftover prey.
Wildebeest move mostly in the safety of their herd, but at most eat the grass on the ground that has been trampled by the front animal.
Every day anew, the inhabitants of the savannah have to compete with other animals for food.
The giraffe, on the other hand, is calm, peaceful and does not take part in the relentless competition on the ground.
It is the only one that reaches the succulent leaves of the acacia tree and doesn’t even get in the way of the other inhabitants.
What the giraffe means to us.
We see the giraffe as the foundation of our own Mehrwerk DNA and culture as well as our mission for working with our customers. After all, competition on the market is in many ways not so dissimilar to life on the savannah!
Every day, we put our heart and soul into helping our customers to market our products not according to the ostrich, wildebeest or vulture strategy, but like a giraffe, reaching for the fruit that hangs at the top of the tree.
In this way, the giraffe has become a faithful companion to our spirit animal over the years.
Spontaneously named after our founder Frank, “Franky the giraffe” now accompanies us to practically all presentations, appearances and trips.
We see the giraffe’s strategy as an inspiration for our own positioning.
